Multi-marketplace sync for an online retailer

An online accessories store sold on its own website and on Romania's largest marketplace, with stock, prices and images maintained by hand in both. We built a sync application and restructured the advertising campaigns.

  1. Stock and prices synced automatically between the e-commerce platform and the marketplace

  2. Product images processed and published to the marketplace's strict requirements

  3. Advertising campaigns restructured around return targets, not clicks

Context

Every new product meant two hand-made listings. Stock mismatches produced unfulfillable orders. The marketplace's image rules rejected listings without clear explanations.

What we did

We built a cloud-hosted sync application with its own database that reads the catalogue from the e-commerce platform, transforms data to the marketplace's specifications, processes images and publishes the differences. We documented the marketplace API's undocumented behaviours. Separately, we restructured the advertising campaigns around return targets.

Outcome

One catalogue, maintained in one place. Listings appear on the marketplace without manual work. Advertising budget is measured in sales, not traffic.
